A JetBlue flight bound for San Juan, Puerto Rico, was forced to halt at Boston Logan International Airport after a passenger opened the emergency exit door during a heated argument with his girlfriend.
According to reports, the man became enraged after an argument with his girlfriend over the phone. Eyewitnesses said he walked toward the exit door, and in a shocking move, “completely” ripped it open. Panic spread among passengers as the man appeared to try to jump out of the plane.

Other passengers, including an air marshal, quickly restrained the man before he could carry out the action. One witness told NBC10 that the argument started when the man wanted to see his girlfriend’s phone, but she refused.
“The boyfriend got mad, got up, walked down the aisle, grabbed the emergency door, and ripped it off,” another witness recalled. “An FBI agent tackled him, handcuffed him, and shortly after, state police boarded the plane and took him off.”
The incident led to the deployment of the emergency slide and the delay of the flight. Massachusetts State Police confirmed that the man was detained for questioning after being restrained by passengers.
JetBlue eventually replaced the plane, causing delays for other flights at the airport.
